Beware of Rental Scams as Market is Hot

Rental scams are not new, but there seems to be more of them as the rental market heats up. The ways scams happen are plentiful, but prospective tenants should always do their due diligence before handing over first and last month's rent. This can include doing a property search to ensure the owner is the individual you are dealing with, or speaking to a realtor.
